Whiskey Bacon Jam Cheeseburger
20 mins prepServes 1
Indulge in a Bacon-licious Cheeseburger topped with homemade Whiskey Bacon Jam. This recipe features a juicy burger patty, melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, and a rich, savory bacon jam, all served on a toasted brioche bun.
1. Make Whiskey Bacon Jam: Cook 1 lb of Sliced Bacon until crisp, then remove and drain.
2. To the same pan, add 2 tsp Bacon Grease, 1/2 diced White Onion, and 1 diced Jalapeño. Cook until softened, about 7 minutes.
3. Add 1/4 cup Brown Sugar and 1/4 cup Whiskey. Carefully flambé.
4. Add 1 tsp Dried Thyme, 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper, the crumbled cooked Bacon, and 1/4 cup Chicken Broth. Cook down for 10 minutes, then turn off heat and stir in 2 tsp Balsamic Vinegar.
5. Cook a 1/2 lb Frozen Burger Patty (e.g., Shaq Burger Patty) for 20 minutes, flipping every 5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Season with your favorite rubs.
6. During the last couple of minutes of cooking the patty, add a slice of American Cheese to melt.
7. Toast your Hamburger Buns (e.g., Brioche Bun).
8. Time to build your burger: Spread Mayonnaise on the Toasted Brioche Bun, add Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, place the 1/2 lb Burger Patty with melted Cheese, and generously top with the prepared Whiskey Bacon Jam.
